Eric Bowlby is the Executive Director of San Diego Canyonlands. Bowlby served as chair of the Sierra Club’s San Diego Chapter Executive Committee in 1999 and 2000 and subsequently built the chapter’s Canyons Campaign, serving as its coordinator for eight years.  In 2007, Sunset Magazine called Bowlby the  “Paul Revere of San Diego Canyons”.  He is an appointed member of the City of San Diego Wetland Advisory Board and serves as the Sierra Club’s representative to the Open Space/Canyons Advisory Board in the City of San Diego.  He is a founding and current board member of Groundwork San Diego-Chollas Creek.  Bowlby has also served on the Surfrider Foundation and as treasurer for the River Valley Preservation Project.

Brian Moehl, Programs Coordinator

Brian Moehl is the Programs Coordinator for San Diego Canyonlands. Most recently he held the position of Conservation Program Assistant for the Canyons Campaign at the San Diego chapter of the Sierra Club. Moehl recruits volunteer and works with volunteer leaders and the public to coordinate events and provide information on program activities. Drawing on eight years of experience as a substitute teacher for the Cajon Valley Union School District, he had developed standards-based academic curriculum that were adopted by a Gifted & Talented Education (GATE) program. He is a trained facilitator for the Project Wild K-12 curriculum, a youth-oriented training program developed by the US Fish & Wildlife Service and a certified docent at Mission Trails Regional Park.
