SD Canyonlands, along with our partners Urban Corps and the San Diego Mountain Biking Association (SDMBA), recently received a grant from The San Diego Foundation's Opening the Outdoors program! The project will provide safe access to a two-mile trail system and implement a portion of the Chollas Creek Enhancement Program adopted by City Council in 2002. It will also plan and implement wildlife habitat restoration for the same segment. At-risk youth, recruited and engaged in the Urban Corps youth programs, will receive wages while being trained in habitat restoration techniques by qualified San Diego Canyonlands staff. They will also be trained in trail improvement techniques by both the Urban Corps and SDMBA.

A huge thank you to The San Diego Foundation, and the generous donors who have funded the Opening the Outdoors program, for your strong and continuous support of our work.
